Everything in Moderation is a 4-day in-person workshop, that will guide aspiring and current researchers in the fundamentals of qualitative research, using methods from human-centered design, psychology, and anthropology. After completing the course, participants are eligible for the Insights Professional Certification from the Insights Association.

What the course includes

  • 4-day, in-person intensive training that will prepare moderators for every scenario
  • Learn study design, stakeholder buy-in, how to write discussion guides, and how to set up questions
  • Learn how to use the latest market research technology, as you learn moderating skills
  • Training for in-depth interviews, dyads, triads, and groups
  • Learn projective techniques, ideation exercises, and divergent/convergent thinking skills
  • Learn in-person interviewing as well as methods for online research, bulletin boards, and mobile ethnographies
  • Real practice with actual participants, with feedback and coaching from professional instructors
  • Optional track to learn facilitation skills for teams (bringing people to agreement, versus gathering opinions)
  • Small class sizes (12 people max, with 2 instructors)
  • Learn in-context in real research spaces: Focus group facilities, co-working spaces, and hotel conference rooms
  • Held in premier cities around the U.S., including San Francisco, Chicago, New York City, Miami, and Austin
